Australian studio Sodo Sopa has collaborated with Japanese design firm TEM-PER to create the ‘Broadleaf Stool’, a minimal chair made from recycled plastic that is inspired by the curving form of a leaf.
“The form was inspired by the natural beauty of a leaf and its nature to wilt,” explains the studio, “which has been captured in the design’s visual and minimal aesthetic.” The three-legged chair, both classic and edgy, features a sleek and ultra-minimal aesthetic. It has the appearance of style over comfort, however its curving, geometric form acts as a subtle backrest. “The Broadleaf design is interchangeable with its inbuilt locking mechanism that connects the legs to the base without any screws or bolts,” the studio continues. “This allows the base to attach with different colored legs, adding a touch of personalization to the users to pick and choose their desired height, material, and color selection.”
