Casa La Quinta

Casa La Quinta is a holiday home in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. After visiting the location and considering the requirements of the program, we came to the conclusion of respecting the identity of the place, the context and the height of the pre-existing walls of the adjoining houses.
The height of the walls was decisive to delimit the empty space between them. The distribution in the ground floor plan followed this concept, so no divisions were placed within the common areas or between the outer space. For a plan that works all the restrictions internally and that does not have a view of the landscape, three gaps were proposed in the form of patios, each with a different character and use.
These gaps give the project its character, because they reproduce different perceptions of scale, and high contrasts of light and shadow. They also define the spaces of silence and tranquility for the user.
