Dosa Studio is looking for a retired couple (Nicanor and Marisela) to refine their space; a versatile and practical house, in addition to making full use of every corner of the space. Previously, due to the accumulation of furniture and articles, the space felt rather cramped; in terms of furniture layout, the configuration of each space was uncoordinated.

The architect’s first task is to empty all the furniture to understand the building, the changes in light throughout the day, and the shadow projections on each wall. The apartment is located on the first floor of the 6th floor, provided that the white walls are painted to understand the internal light changes. In addition to this, it also responds to the verticality of the same space.

How do you achieve a perspective game that responds to these verticalities and contributes to indoor light transmission? The conclusion is to intervene from the two mirrors in the top to blur the size of the space and to reflect the shadows and light between the walls. The wooden floors are designed to compensate for the cool white color of the walls and ceilings to create a warm light that provides a comfortable space for Nicanor and Marisela.
