Moradas no Ulla

Just a few years ago, the idea of doing rural tourism in a comfortable, pleasant and welcoming environment was unthinkable. They were cold buildings, disregarded, neglected, only designed so that hikers could spend the night in shelter. Today, fortunately, that has changed and visitors are looking to enjoy the stay and the accommodation as well as the nature that surrounds them.
Moradas no Ulla was born for it. It was born to completely change the idea of rural tourism in Galicia. His promoter, Fran, a lover of design and architecture, made a trip to Nordic lands in his vacations in which he discovered that another type of accommodation was possible. He discovered that nature and design can go hand in hand.

Made with ecological pine wood from the area, each cabin has an area of 27 m² with capacity for two adults and one child. All are equipped with bathroom, a bedroom, kitchen, living area, television, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating and outdoor terrace where you can enjoy every night a completely clean sky without light pollution. Connected to each other through a path of wooden slats, they allow guests to enjoy complete privacy thanks to the arrangement of them on the ground.

On his return he began to look for a virgin plot in which to develop the ideas he had in his head. I wanted a piece of land on which I could plant birch, beech and ash. That it was close to a natural environment and with outdoor activities. Let there be silence to rest and disconnect from the rapidity with which cities devour time.
He got it. Next to the Ulla River appeared the land on which now stand the three cabins that make up the complex. Hand in hand with the architect Nacho Piñeiro de la Torre and the landscaper Miguel Lois, they were designing and shaping what until now was only on paper.

The surface of the cabins is not the result of chance; It is the fruit of ingenuity. To facilitate the entire process, they were built in a factory and then transported in a truck to their final destination, so they could not exceed nine meters in length and three meters in width. A difficulty turned into an advantage with a sensational result.
