The project consists of an intervention on the roof of a residential building in order to generate a space for coexistence and introspection, complementary to an apartment located in the Roma neighborhood in Mexico City.

The proposal is defined in two blocks, the first one gives continuity to the access through a sequence of walls that give it privacy and a different scale; coated with a mixture of paints and pigments to achieve a rusty finish, as if it were an urban ruin. The design strategy sought to integrate elements and finishes that would resist the weather and age correctly, adding character to the materiality over time. At the end of this concrete corridor that is interspersed with vast vegetation, the second block is discovered as a main room, defined by a modular metallic structure that stands out for its carbonized wood roof.

Under this element, a timeless and versatile space was created with different uses (contemplative garden, work space and meeting space) enhanced by the integration of elements designed by the office, such as cast concrete furniture and a suspended fireplace in corroded steel; complemented by the appropriation of the site through artistic and decorative elements selected together with the client. At the back of the room, there is a wall whose degraded pigmentation gives a sense of freshness to the palette of earthy tones. On one side, the pillars that support the structure generate visual frames for an emblematic panorama of the Mexico City skyline.
