Inspired by the foliage of Japanese cherry blossoms and the passages they create during Hanami (flower viewing) season in Japan, Span Design created this bold design for WAGAYA, a ramen restaurant in Sydney, Australia.
The designers used the overlaying of textures, colour, smell and experience to create a transitional space. The tunnel has been painted soft pink to illustrate the feeling of falling soft cherry blossoms, and is counter balanced by the use of bold textured cobalt blue to create a contrast in the space.

Neon signs have been used to create focal points on the walls, and to brighten darker spaces.
Pink perforated timber panels are used around the kitchen area to allow the aroma of food to permeate throughout the space.
