The project of a house in the backlands of Alagoas, in such an atypical place of great beauty and simplicity, made us understand that the starting point should be to value the culture of this region, in order to apply regionalist techniques throughout the construction of the house and its interior. The result is a clear, light, and cozy environment.

Thermal comfort was highlighted in the project. We created ventilation prisms so that hot air would leave while cold air would enter, and to be openings for the bedrooms. Translucent tiles and fixed elements also contributed to bring ventilation and natural light to the interior of the house, which were practically non-existent before.

Neutral colors and furniture gave prominence to local handicrafts. Works of local artists and the reuse of typical objects in the decoration were some of the strategies that guided the project.

The kitchen was given special emphasis in the house, since the family has a cook who helps several institutions in the community. We joined the dining room to the kitchen so that the space could function as a central element for socializing and living. In the bedrooms, the focus was mainly on the study areas.

On the façade we chose to use mostly white, in dialogue with the light colors of the local architecture, and green, blue and vegetation in strategic places, which together with the furniture, gave life to the project.
