The Itapicuru apartment, located in the Perdizes neighborhood in São Paulo, was designed for a young administrator who requested as a premise that his apartment be welcoming to receive visitors and allow greater interaction between the dining and living areas. Originally, the 95m² apartment, dating back to the 1970s, was divided into three bedrooms, only one bathroom, living room, kitchen, storage room, and service toilet, which made the environments very segmented.

The project’s idea was to integrate the environments in order to increase clarity and visual amplitude through a single organizing element: a central shelf in 3mm sheet metal designed to receive multiple functions. It is a display for personal belongings for the living room, seats for the dining table, and cabinets that face the kitchen and the master bedroom, seeking to solve the needs of both environments in a single gesture.

The bookcase has a minimalist design in order to enhance the display of the resident’s personal objects, becoming an apparatus of memory, which gradually transforms over time.
通过重新分配空间内原有的液压和砖石基础设施，卧室被改造成了套间。此外，这些私密的环境被绿色的中密度板包裹在一个核心中，这些中密度板有时是通往卧室或厕所的门，有时是固定在围栏上。绿色面板成为白色金属书架的背景，这确保了它作为空间雕塑元素的突出地位。
The bedrooms were transformed into suites by redistributing the original hydraulic and masonry infrastructure of the space. In addition, these intimate environments were wrapped in a core by green mdf panels, which are sometimes doors to access the bedrooms or the toilet, and sometimes fixed enveloping the fence. The green panels become the background of the white metal bookcase, which ensures its prominence as a sculptural element of the space.
